Our Oktoberfest race and party, scheduled for September 19th, is moving from Waltham to Watertown.
Since the event’s inception, we have worked to address ongoing concerns from the owners of the industrial park regarding parking and the event’s impact on the Waverley Oaks Athletic Club and neighboring businesses. Despite our best efforts to accommodate their concerns, we have not been able to establish the level of cooperation necessary to continue producing the event successfully.
We do not believe it makes sense to continue hosting a community event in a location where we do not have full support from our largest neighbor, so we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the Waltham race. We are grateful to everyone who has participated, volunteered, and supported the Oktoberfest 5K/5M over the years, and we are deeply sorry for the change. We hope you can join us at Mighty Squirrel's Arsenal Yards Taproom in Watertown instead. Join us at Mighty Squirrel Waltham for their 8th annual Oktoberfest Road Race!
Oktoberfest is a giant party at Mighty Squirrel which starts with a run. Sign up to run, walk, or volunteer in the 5K (3.1m) or 5-mile race. Afterwards, enjoy cold beer and live music at Mighty Squirrel's gigantic outdoor biergarten and inside their award-winning taproom. All participants get two free drinks and a hat!
