Lobster Rolls, Turkey Sandwiches, Burritos, & Pizza!
Our food menu is finalized and we are so grateful for the generous support of Jake's Clambakes & Kitchen and Burrito Bistro! (we're still working on a pizza sponsor--go any connections? We'll have more than enough food for everyone, but we don't want food to go to waste either, so here's our food math: we'll have ~225 cyclists and staff, and 300 lunches: 100 lobster rolls, 100 burritos, 50 turkey sandwiches, and 50 slices of pizza. When you get your bib number (either Sat. 12-4PM or Sun. 7:30-8:40AM), you will get a wristband for your food choice. They're first come, first served, so check in early to ensure your first choice on the menu. Thanks to the continued generosity of our premier sponsor Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., we will have a great selection of post-ride beer! All cyclists & volunteers 21+ get TWO BEERS! We'll have live music from 11AM to 2PM with Daniel Sturgis. Please bring your ID if you look under 40. If we ask, consider it a compliment, not a nuisance.
Bag Check & Changing Areas!
As much as we love seeing you in your cycling gear, we think you'll have even more fun if you change into “street clothing” after the ride. The Cape Cod Maritime Museum has graciously allowed us to set up two changing areas inside, in the upstairs gallery. So feel free to bring a bag with a change of clothing and your dancing shoes to our bag check area (next to check-in) before the ride on Sunday. We'll keep your bag safe while you're riding; after the ride, you can change out of your cycling gear and get the party started!

COURSE CHANGED 6/1 DUE TO ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Construction on Newtown Road began on Friday, two weeks earlier than scheduled. The road is unsafe for a group ride, so we've detoured the 38M route. At mile 15.2, while riding south on Old Mill Rd., you will now turn left onto Bog Rd., then left at the end onto River Rd., then a SHARP RIGHT onto Wakeby Rd., which brings you down to a left turn at Newtown Rd., past the construction.
This is a scenic 20/38-mile ride through all seven villages and along the beautiful coastline of the Town of Barnstable on sunny Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
BODYARMOR Hydration Stations:
There will be two BODYARMOR Hydration Stations (aka rest stops!) on the course, each with a portable toilet. The first station is located at mile 13.8 at the Cape Cod Airfield on Race Lane in Marstons Mills. The second station is at mile 31.9 (14.6 on 20M) at Tommy's Place on Main Street in Centerville. Please bring water bottles with you on the bike. You will be able to refill your bottle with water and/or BODYARMOR sports drink at each of the two rest stops. There will also be light snacks available.
We love our volunteers!
This ride would not be possible without the generous support of over 50 volunteers. If you're riding, please thank them! If you'd like to volunteer, THANK YOU! Please sign up at bikereg.com/tdb
Volunteer roles and responsibilities typically go something like this:
Registration
Registration volunteers assist with setting up the registration area, which includes tables, signs, bib numbers, safety pins, pens, and ride swag items which may includes t-shirts or other wearables. As runners arrive, volunteers will help runners retrieve their number from a list, get their bib number, distribute safety pins, and distribute appropriate swag items. After registration is complete, volunteers will clean up any remaining items and store them until they can be returned to the truck. Tables used for registration are often used for the post-ride party, and often re-arranged rather than put away.
Bag Check
Volunteers will help with checking in cyclists' bags in the Bag Check area. Before the ride, volunteers will help set up a secure area that is large enough to arrange many bags. Materials needed include bag tags, markers, and trash bags. Cyclists will be given a tag to write their bib number on which should be attached to their bag. Bag Check volunteers will take the bags and arrange them numerically so they can be easily found when the cyclists return. The bag check area must always be attended and secure.
Course Marshals
Course Marshals sometimes assist with setting up the signage and cones along the course before the ride. During the ride, course marshals direct the cyclists along the correct course and help ensure their safety by alerting other walkers, cyclists, and motorists. After the ride is complete, course marshals help clean up the signage, cones and any other materials along the course.
Water Stations
Water Station volunteers assist with setting up the water stations along the course before the ride starts. Water stations are equipped with tables, paper cups, gloves, water, and trash bags. Water should be pre-poured into cups (half-filled) before the cyclists arrive. After the last cyclists have passed, volunteers will help clean up all cups and trash place in garbage bags. All materials should be broken down and returned to the Start/Finish area.
Start/Finish Crew
Volunteers assigned to the start/finish area will assist with setting up the start/finish line banners, signage, cones and other materials. Volunteers will help cyclists line up for the ride and ensure the ride starts smoothly (with the assistance of the race director and staff). After the ride, volunteers will help clean up the start/finish area and load race equipment and materials into a truck.
Please check back after the ride!
Mighty Squirrel was started by two friends, Henry & Naveen, when they decided they wanted to build a company together. They loved the fun culture of the craft beer industry and the community-centric environment of its taprooms, so they began home brewing and eventually ended up building their first brick and mortar in 2018 in Waltham, where they brew all of their beer for stores, bars, and restaurants across Massachusetts and for customers who visit their brewery and taproom. Mighty Squirrel recently opened their second brewery and taproom location at One David Ortiz Way in Boston, just steps away from Fenway Park and mile 25 of the Boston Marathon course.
Parking is available at the Hyannis Town Hall Parking Lot, behind the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum.
In the event of inclement weather or a global pandemic, the event may be postponed to another date. If @racecancer must cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control, no refunds will be issued. Please remember, all proceeds go to charity.
